Wall Street Is Closed On Memorial Day

Good morning. It is 63 degrees and overcast here in the Upper Hudson Valley. Sunshine and temperatures in the high 80s are expected today. I hope you are enjoying your extended holiday weekend. I'm looking forward to the town parade later this morning. Tough job being a soldier, somehow I missed the draft during the Vietnam War. My lottery number was not called and then Nixon ended the draft for people starting in the year of my birth. Since then it's been a volunteer military, as we know. We would all like to see our federal government do a much better job of getting our Vets the proper health care and follow up care they deserve.

Wall Street is closed today for the holiday. The article I've posted has some unsettling information. Oil imports are presently rising with China now with record crude imports. What can be said here, we need to see carbon dioxide emissions decline. The price we are paying and will pay for more CO2 emissions is very steep.

Reuters: Oil prices edge down as dollar strengthens
"Global oil demand continues to surprise to the upside..."

In China, crude imports hit a record 7.4 million barrels per day in April...
