"Throughout his public career, Trump has resembled nothing so much as a drunken talk-radio caller from Queens..."

I completely agree with the above statement.

So why is it that this is the umpteenth pronunciation that--- this time he's really losing it ---?
Maybe this guy knows something we don't but pronouncements like these have been as fluid as the orange one's pressured speech. Unless he's actually indicted for one of a multitude of crimes or someone else gets the GOP nomination, these pronouncements mean little to nothing.

It doesn't look like Biden / Garland are going to do shit as regards Trump. All their weakness does is encourage even worse behavior from Trump et al.

It's relevant because it's coming from the National Review and it's a lead story on their magazine. My mother was an extreme conservative and read the National Review literally every day. She was the equivalent of someone who is now in Qanon and who picketed abortion clinics which she did. She was a complete nut. So there remains a stable of old white Republicans who still read Buckley's treasured bullshit and so when they see that their beloved magazine is saying Trump is el loco, it gives them a startle. It's like the battery needs a jump.
