Part of me suspects that a lot of this surveillance was less about security and more about marketing information for corporations. Talk about conspiracy theories, seriously though what do they find? They find most Americans live boring lives with relationship, financial, or health problems or all three, that we look for simple entertainment, and we're trying to live as best we can. What's the big deal, is it about shaming people? Regardless it strikes me that corporate America could use this info to create the drugs and products that match the data. Just saying.
