The Market On Thursday

Good morning. It is a shivery 32 degrees with some sunshine here in the Upper Hudson Valley. Sunshine is expected through the day. Most of the people in this area are relieved to not be up to their ears in snow. Buffalo as you know was literally pounded with snow. Buffalo is experiencing record levels of snow, it's brutal and snow at that level is a major obstacle not just for day to day activity but for one's own survival.

At 9:00 a.m. ET futures are moderately lower and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open lower.

A combination of weak economic reports from China and the eurozone are dragging on markets this morning. Sometimes the market can recover later in the day and sometimes not. This sounds a little foreboding.

CNN: Stocks: 5 things to know before the open
...China's manufacturing sector turned in its weakest performance in six months in November.

...manufacturing and services in the eurozone hit a 16-month low in November.
