The final IPCC report in 2114 stated that by the time mankind acted to reign in global carbon emissions in the late 21st century it was too late to stop the planetary processes now under way and accelerating. The UN building in NYC had been by this date closed and evacuated due to extreme sea rise effecting the East river and downtown Manhattan, plus most of NYC had already been evacuated or had died in the plague and famine in 2105-12. In 2114 average temps. in the Hudson Valley were now 6 C above the average a century earlier. Famine, plagues, Resource wars ( especially over water and arable land.) had decimated the human race by this time and world populations were now falling rapidly everywhere. The elites of this era had already withdrawn to high mt. passes and armed redoubts all over the planet, where they were now making their last stands against rampaging armies and militias.

Here's another thing people don't get besides the distinction between weather and climate, they don't understand that 1 degree Celsius equals 33.8 degrees Fahrenheit. A 6 degree Celsius increase makes life impossible. I don't think anything is alive then, except maybe some bacteria.
