& yet old Dan was supposedly the man that convinced Pence that Donald's crazy plan to overturn the election, where Pence wouldn't certify the electoral College vote was nuts.

Exactly. Pence called Quayle to find out how he could do what Trump wanted him to do, and Quayle told him to follow the rules. We owe more to Quayle than any of the miscreants in Trump's orbit.
