I met him once about 8 yrs. ago at a speech he gave at Rutgers U. in NJ. Things have just degraded since then. It's as if the more we know about this ongoing disaster the less we do. It's simply not a priority for the average person who is struggling each day to just live day to day.
I live in Upstate NY and the cities in this area are definitely on the serious decline. Gang activity is up, shootings and violence are up, and the cost of living is way up. Rent prices are shockingly high. People on the edge are really in a jam. It's about survival mode.
