Trump isn't interested in winning because of the process. Why should he be since he has the votes to win regardless of the charges. He wants the GOP to tow the line on his false claims regardless of whether its a lie. This is how his entire Presidency worked and he doesn't see any reason to change it now. He's likely to get his way. If so that would amount to the Senate endorsing his Insurrection after the fact as they did that day. The Dems. for some reason think the truth matters. It doesn't for Trumplandia and he'll just use this 2nd failed Impeachment as another banner of martyrdom to wave about. Poor Donald, always the fucking victim. His base feels the same way. Oh woe is me I got cheated by those evil black & brown folks and their pagan allies. I'm sick and tired of these mfers all of them. Unity my ass.

The GOP is rising up as a fringe party, fringe political movement based in wacky and dangerous conspiracy theories. As long as the Dems hold the reigns, we're good but you know as well as I that the likelihood of a GOP House takeover in 2022 is good. Can you imagine Marjorie Taylor Greene as the next Speaker Of The House.

Not so fringe from what I see Jim. He lost with 74 mil. votes, hardly fringe. Even if he's lost half of them it's not a fringe group. The country is now dangerously divided between an increasingly reactionary and authoritarian segment of the population that is heavily armed with semi-automatic weapons and one that is larger and more progressive but largely poor and powerless. This is NOT a good situation.
