They figure why bother dragging it out they won't ever convict and they don't want it to drag on and on into the primary season hurting Dem. candidates. I don't see the point of even bothering beyond what they've already done.

I like it because it's at the minimum a blemish on a horrible presidency.

I'm afraid after it's done and he's found not guilty he will go full tilt vengeance and purge against all his enemies ( most of the planet.) This all is going to be the dark flipside of the wrongful perjury trapping/trial of Clinton in the 90's Impeachment drama. In that farce, the GOP acted all self-righteous and pious and Constitutional and Clinton did perjure himself but a BJ even a concealed one wasn't considered a high crime and misdemeanor by the American people. In this case, it's radically different and Trumpf is without a doubt guilty of HC and Misd. but he will escape punishment because of partisan hatred. The end result I predict will be a dark time where Trumpf will go running about projecting his guilt onto everyone he perceives as an enemy. He's going to be capable of anything next year anything. The question is how low will his cult followers go?

Yes, right now I'm in agreement with you. it's going to take some kind of actual evidence for me to believe differently. It's not etched in stone though. There's still room for change, we really never know how things will turn out. Yet the arrows do point to what you are saying.
