The Market On Thursday

Good morning. It is 50 degrees and sunny here in the Upper Hudson Valley. We are in for a very sunny day with temperatures in the 70s. I would call it an exquisite day. Yours truly is working through a very obnoxious flu that really wants to hold on. It's okay on one hand because I am not adverse to relaxing and bed rest. We see that there was literally a human stampede at the Hajj in Mecca resulting in 450 deaths and many more injuries. That is discouraging and one hopes that whatever conditions arose that allowed the stampede to occur will not happen again. What a horrible way to go, trampled to death by many of your fellow religious travelers.

At 7:45 a.m. ET futures are significantly lower and the price of oil per barrel is slightly higher. The market is poised to tank at the opening bell.

Looks like BMW is suffering from VW disease as that car makers autos are also failing emission standards. Is the no corporate sanctity in this cruel world! Apparently not.
