Too Partisan

The AlterNet article identifies one of the biggest failings of Obama's speech. He did not take it to the GOP hard enough, make that at all, and he didn't point out their amazing obstructionism and the GOP's austerity recession.

Obama is going to try partisanship till he's booted next year. Where are the dirty nasty tricks. Fight dirty man. Stop kissing their asses. Call these clowns out.

AlterNet: Obama Delivers Impassioned Jobs Speech, But Fails to Take GOP to Task for Blocking Progress
(Obama said)“We shouldn’t be in a race to the bottom, where we try to offer the cheapest labor and the worst pollution standards.”

(Obama) suggesting that Congressional dysfunction is a bipartisan problem, despite the indisputable fact that Republican nihilists have taken obstructionism to unprecedented heights in order to destroy his presidency.

Obama missed a chance to inflict political pain on the GOP for the "austerity recession" they have demanded. Without that pressure – without genuine fear of an electoral backlash next November – it's hard to see the GOP-controlled House assenting to any plan.
