'Buffett Tax'

I support Obama's proposal to increase taxes on millionaires.

The proposal is dead on arrival in a Tea Party Congress and we must assume that this is a political ploy designed to boost Obama's dwindling popularity. Lately Obama has realized that he needs support from the left and it could be too late.

Reuters: Obama to propose "Buffett Tax" on millionaires
Obama will lay out his recommendations in White House Rose Garden remarks at 10.30 a.m. EDT on Monday and is expected to urge steps to raise tax revenue as well as cuts in government spending.

...Obama will not recommend any changes to the popular Social Security federal retirement plan.

Obama's sudden lurch leftward is way too late and way too little. His base is seriously demoralized and most realize that with the tea party is in place making sure none of his left promises will ever happen, so he can say whatever and have no fear of it ever coming to fruition. It's a cruel game. The GOP does the same to its base on the abortion issue.
