People put these ideas out there and they mostly loose steam but some do stick and some grow larger. This is the first article and proposal like this that I've ever seen and it makes a serious point. The substance of the article is nauseating. The abuse that the church perpetrated is monstrous, they destroyed thousands and thousands of lives in the cruelest ways imaginable. It's a record of misery.
