Rough tape of a rough band. Cobain lived a rough life.
They set a template during a cultural shift, and their influence is heard today. Kind of amazing.
I didn't appreciate them then as I do now.
Not to knock Grohl, cause I think he's contributed a lot, but I liked him best as a drummer.
His drum roll leading up to the chorus in 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' is a top ten all time memorable drum fill. I love hearing it, it revs up the energy and it's nothing special, just a little longer and louder.
