I think he's worse. Not only is he over his head and deranged but he's at bottom an extremely dangerous person to be in possession of the nuclear launch codes because of BOTh Besides all of that he's also a swaggering schoolyard style BULLY whose spoiling for a fight from the minute he wakes up to the minute he snorts all the coke and speed on his desk.

Axelrod is containing himself and probably operating with a sense of restrained decorum because of his position in American politics. Beyond that just as you say Trump is exponentially worse and exponentially more dangerous. The man is vicious.
