The Market On Monday

Good morning. It is 43 degrees and sunny cloudy here in the Upper Hudson Valley, the forecast predicts a mostly cloudy day with temperatures in the 50s this afternoon. The longer seven day forecast is still a little anemic with more rain than sunshine and mild Spring temperatures. Regardless it is looking very lush outside, the softer colored new leaves are transitioning to being mature and darker, and the Farmer's Markets are back in action. I was happy to go to our local Farmer's Market on Saturday and see some of my favorite farmers and friends.

At 9:00 a.m. ET DOW futures are -41 and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open moderately lower.

Sally Yates testifies today. She will no doubt reveal some very damaging information on Trump's connections to Russia and especially information surrounding Flynn. I am reading that the White House plans to smear Sally Yates as a partisan operative of the Democratic Party. Recall that Sally Yates worked as a 'nonpolitical career DOJ attorney for two decades'. I am very pleased to read that France was able to elect Emmanuel Macron as its next president, and reject the highly divisive ultra right wing hack Marine Le Pen. Can America learn this lesson in future elections and elect a real politician with real experience who is more of a centrist, and not prone to outrageous, absurd, and damaging comments all day long.
