The Market On Friday

Good morning. It is 45 degrees and cloudy here in the Upper Hudson Valley, the forecast predicts a cloudy day with temperatures in the high 40s this afternoon. The long range forecast shows some sunny days coming up and that will be a relief because it has been pretty gray around here. Also that 80 degree day on Tuesday is still on the radar.

At 9:05 a.m. ET DOW futures are -39 and the price of oil per barrel is slightly higher. The market is poised to open moderately lower.

As you know Trump has sent missiles into Syria in retaliation for al-Assad's gas attack on Syria's own citizens including many young children. What can we say. Regardless, it's all over the news and as I type I'm seeing commentary and images.

CNN: Oil jumps on Syria strike; U.S. jobs; China talks by Ivana Kottasova
Syria is not a major oil exporter, but the U.S. military action creates additional uncertainty in the Middle East.
