The Market On Thursday

  Good morning. It is 21 degrees and gloriously sunny here in the Upper Hudson Valley, the forecast predicts a mostly sunny day with temperatures around 30 degrees this afternoon. We are headed into a warming trend over the next few day as well. Looks like Trump is 0 for 2 with his Muslim bans, hey one more strike and he's out.

  At 9:15 a.m. ET the DOW is +58 and the price of oil per barrel is up. The market is poised to open moderately higher.

  On Wednesday the Fed raised the base interest rate .25%, as most expected. The market continues on a roll this morning, stocks are hot.

The Fed raised its key interest rate by 0.25 percentage point on Wednesday, which was widely expected.

Central bank chief Janet Yellen publicly expressed her "confidence in the robustness of the economy and its resilience to shocks."
