Good morning. It is cloudy and 27 degrees here in the Upper Hudson Valley, the forecast predicts a cloudy day with temperatures around 36 degrees this afternoon. Looking at the seven day forecast, it all still looks rather mild with the main expectation that it gets up around 50 degrees on Wednesday. Think about that, that's called global warming. We see that Republicans are barking back at Trump's oh so kind remarks about Putin. Putin is a thug yells McConnell. At what point does McConnell take the next step and say, but Trump, he's a thug. Don't worry though GOP, CNN did a beautiful fluff piece this morning about how Trump is already a folk hero in some of the poorest white sections of Kentucky. I'm sure Trump will airlift billions of dollars to those areas real real soon. There will be money raining down from the skies.
At 9:20 a.m. ET DOW futures are a -38 and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open moderately lower.
Fourth quarter corporate results continue to roll in. Otherwise it appears to be a rather bland sort of not compelling morning.

Trumpf's a hero in Hillybilly country because I'm convinced these rubes really don't know who he is and he's effectively pulled the wool so far over their white sheeted heads they aren't going to ever know until after he's led away in leg irons by a Federal sheriff for something so egregious as to be beyond question. Although, that might not even be possible anymore.
You know I believe like you that they have been severely snookered as it were. I do know that these people are very depressed and in great poverty, so hell, if Trump in there makes they feel hopeful who am I to stomp on that. They get 4 or 8 years of feeling hopeful as their economic options shrink even further and further. It's amazing how the world looks better simply because you're not depressed. Unfortunately along the way Trump may very well destroy the entire economy and set off nukes too. So enjoy your happiness white Kentucky.
