The Atlantic

Science Daily: Potential instability in Atlantic Ocean water circulation system
summary - One of the world's largest ocean circulation systems may not be as stable as today's weather models predict, according to a new study. In fact, changes in the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation -- the same deep-water ocean current featured in the movie 'The Day After Tomorrow' -- could occur quite abruptly, in geologic terms, the study says.

I've heard diametrically opposite calls on this issue. Some of the models say that the warming will overwhelm the effects of the slowdown of the current and heat the Northeastern Atlantic and the Arctic anyway. The truth is we're into a totally new situation with this warm up and the scientists are still arguing about this the possible effects on Europe and the East coast of the US.

We will continue to witness these micro and macro changes, this is our present and our future.
