The Market On Thursday

Good morning. It is 69 degrees and sunny here in the Upper Hudson Valley. We are in the midst of some of the best Summer weather and conditions that I can ever recall. I tuned into MSNBC last night out of curiosity to see what the big news was all about. And yes it's still about Trump, even on MSNBC. America has an infatuation and god help us.

At 9:00 a.m. futures are ever so slightly higher and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open slightly higher.

Global financial concerns are still centered around China's decision to depreciate its currency. The Chinese Fed is assuring the world that its currency's stabilization is around the corner. Meanwhile first time weekly unemployment numbers came in at 274,000 and this continues to show an improving job market.

The (Chinese) central bank said Thursday that it expects the currency to stabilize, and that circumstances no longer call for continued depreciation.
