The Market On Wednesday

Good morning. It is 60 degrees and sunny here in the Upper Hudson Valley. It looks like another glorious day in paradise. We see that al Qaeda is now fighting ISIS. What's next - maybe we'll see Limbaugh and Coulter mano e mano. I would definitely pay the maximum premium for that one. The GOP should consider it. Seriously, instead of being the party of no and 12th Century fiefdoms, they could enter the present world with the modern gladiator using their own megaphones as enemy warriors. I must write GOP leadership - drop out of politics, you're miserable at it anyway, and go into professional wrestling.

At 8:45 a.m. ET futures are slightly down and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open lower.

It looks like Apple made a big splash on Tuesday with new iPhones and a smart watch. Now we get to see how those tech advances resonate through the market. Otherwise it looks like another flat and uninspiring day. It could easily stay like this for a few weeks, or at least until third quarter reports.

CNN: Stocks: 4 things to know before the open
McDonald's...said third quarter earnings will take a hit after a food scandal in China scared away diners in Asia last month.
