"Right after my next drink and what's it to ya anyway pal?"
Having dealt with, lived with and been around alcoholics all my life, good luck changing them. Personally, I don't waste much energy or time anymore dealing with them. I know its an illness and I can't for the life of me understand why so few scientific resources are expended looking for a cure? Its not like Medical science doesn't have the know how or resources. What is lacking is the will.
We all live with and around alcoholics. I am fortunate in that I never went there. The people I do know who are sober have really had to work on it very hard. One of the saddest things is someone who has relapsed after a long sobriety. Society still pushes it. Hopefully at some point society gets its collective act together.
