The Market On Tuesday

Good morning. It is 62 degrees and overcast here in Upstate NY. Rain is expected and I'd have to say it sure feels like rain. We've had quite a bit of wind as of late too. The wind creates all kinds of banging sounds in and out of the house which have literally scared my new dog. She would prefer the calm of a summer or winter day while running in a field. She's the first dog I've owned that reacts poorly to thunder, the noise scares her. All in all though she's still quite a sweet being.

At 8:30 a.m. ET DOW futures are slightly lower and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open slightly lower.

We are heading full tilt into the earnings report season. Investors are now to decide the fate of the indexes based on the reports. Some of the first reports from the financial sector were not pleasing and now we see if legends like Coca Cola or Intel can push everything into the plus column. This will be a telling week.

CNN: Stocks: Caution ahead of earnings
"We're moving into the heart of earnings season now...We've got a lot of financial reporting this week. The bars are set low enough that earnings expectations are in line with reality."

"Ukraine has the ability to disrupt the entire focus on this market if it escalates..."
