The Corp. media's job is to divert, distract and entertain and on top of everything SELL products and Corp. pts. of view and ideology. It is NOT to educate or inform and it largely doesn't do that. It's like JUNK food is to real food it just fills up your head with fluff that has no substance. I rarely watch it. When I do tune in it's to mostly watch old movies and Discovery nature and science shows and the history channel. The rest is an absolute shit burger.

The Romans held the public by the eyeballs for 5 centuries with increasingly weird and murderous games in all parts of the Empire. The collapse of the Empire coincided with the collapse of the games. The party in Rome was over after the killing for sport and profit in the various coliseums ended. The truth is the Empire ran out of cheap Tigers, Lions and Elephants to kill and turned increasingly to killing Christians and criminals and after Constantine , Barbarians and criminals.

Very interesting - turns out the hunger games is an old concept. Notice how some of the new reality game shows make people do very dangerous and denigrating things. Even the new mixed martial art cage fighting stuff seems very animalistic and crude, and the appetite for it is growing.
