Chris Hedges On Capitalism’s ‘Sacrifice Zones’

Watch this clip. Hedges has put it together, all of it.
"The average worker at Walmart worked 28 hours a week but their wages put them below the poverty line which is why when you work at Walmart they give you applications for food stamps. So we can have the government subsidize the family fortune of the Walton family. These corporations know only one word and that's more and because the mechanisms of governance can no longer control them, there is nothing now within the formal mechanisms of power to stop them from creating essentially a corporate oligarchic state."

It's been formed and is operating. A plutocracy only needs slaves, not workers. At the height of the Roman Empire some wealthy slave holders had as many as 20K slaves! This is the world the Oligarchs are shooting for.

The humanistic leaning elite willing to create institutions for the benefit of the society is in decline while the greediest, most barbaric elite are in ascendency. The elite in our country are more like Saddam Hussein and his sons - vicious, barbaric, and greedy beyond comprehension plus 50% of the people in this country finds this perfectly desirable.
