Pakistan Violence 5-16-09
I am failing to understand how lobbing a missile into a territory where the enemy is indistinguishable from the local indigenous population will solve anything. Why would we want to terrorize a civilian group as a by product.

The attack comes as the Pakistani army prepares for a major assault to rid the main town in the Swat Valley of entrenched Taliban militants.

Feels good for the guys in some room in La playing pilot of these things. It's just business as usual for our killing machine. How these people sleep at night is beyond me? Consider how we'd respond if missiles fell out of nowhere into our neighborhoods? Oh, 9/11 comes to mind doesn't it? We'd be pissed and so are these people.
That's pretty much how I look at it. There's the reasonable way of thinking about things as in, how would I feel if this was enacted on me. We take a different stance in the USA. Its about overwhelming force used in a preemptive or elective way. We initiate. Its interesting because America is rarely attacked, most countries would be scared shitless to do such an action. But we do have recessions which have the power to leave millions in destitution.
