The Great Wait

Let's face it, we have a certain part of our lives on hold because we are waiting for the recession to ease.

Is this a good strategy?

I can't comment because I believe most things have to be evaluated or judged person by person. We do sense that there is a general freeze placed on the environment including all our interactions.

All of a sudden, I am highly concerned about saving money, looking for the bargain, foregoing the extra thing, economizing on gas, etc etc. Its a type of herding instinct, a gathering together of my baby assets and then protecting them with vigilance.

The administration is recently trying to unfreeze the mass psychology that has evolved over the past 15 months. The unraveling of the economy and the continuous news has induced more shock and stress into the mass system. So these guys have decided to start with the, things are not as bad as we think strategy in order to change the mood.

Its not bad, they're trying. Its a bit clumsy but most general speeches are broad and clumsy, and they are vague and unspecific as we are left to fill in the details with what we think we want to hear.

So we are waiting. Waiting for the news that corporation X is all of a sudden doing better business, that business X is hiring 5,000 more workers, that retail sales are up, and that the DOW is stable and ready to surge into a bull market.

On the other hand maybe there is a little problem here with our extreme over dependence on all things material.

So let's be wary, be cautious, but still, let's live. As they say, let it go. Take a deep breath and let it go and start unfreezing. Spring starts this very Friday coming up.

I turned my veggie /herb/flower garden today and started think spring. The crocuses are blooming down here. It's been a nasty nasty winter. Still, BV$H is gone and the new guy is trying.

Bush is gone, gotta remind myself. He cast such an ugly pallor over the entire world. What a disaster. Now Cheney was running this executive death squad. What a bunch.
